For fire-protection companies with 1 to 10 techs
Fire extinguisher inspection software
Inspections your techs finish on the first walk. Scan the unit's QR tag, tick the NFPA 10 checklist, snap a photo of anything wrong. PunchTag writes the customer report, sets every next due date and turns failed units into quotes.

The problem
Where small fire companies lose hours and money
Paperwork
Clipboards get typed twice
Techs write it in the field, then someone re-types it into a report at night. Every unit gets handled two times.
Scheduling
6-year and hydro dates slip
A spreadsheet won't warn you that 40 units at one school need a hydrostatic test in March. Missed dates are lost work and a compliance risk for the customer.
Revenue
Deficiencies never get quoted
A missing pin or a low gauge noted on paper often never becomes a quote. That is repair revenue left in the truck.
How it works
One walk through the building
Scan
Scan the QR label on the extinguisher. Location, type, size and last service load instantly.
Check
Tap through the NFPA 10 checklist with big buttons that work with gloves. Pass is one tap.
Flag
Fail an item and the app asks for a photo and the fix. A quote line is drafted for you.
Send
Leave the site with a branded PDF report emailed to the customer and every next due date already scheduled.
At launch
Everything an extinguisher route needs
No sprinklers, alarms or backflow yet. We're doing extinguishers properly first.
Offline mobile checklists
Monthly and annual NFPA 10 checklists on iPhone, iPad and Android tablets. No signal needed.
A QR label for every unit
Each extinguisher gets its own record next to its service tag: type, size, manufacture date, location and full history.
Automatic due dates
Annual, 6-year and hydrostatic dates are calculated from each unit's type and history. See next month's work in one list.
Branded customer reports
A clean PDF with your logo, every unit, pass or fail, and photos. Ready for the fire marshal or the insurer.
Deficiency to quote to invoice
Failed items become quote lines. Once the customer approves, export the invoice to QuickBooks Online.
A status link for building owners
Customers see what's due and what passed without calling your office.
Who it's for
Owner-run extinguisher companies
PunchTag is for fire-protection businesses where the owner still answers the phone: one to ten technicians, a few hundred customer sites and thousands of extinguishers tracked on paper tags, spreadsheets or software built for much bigger shops.
If you run a large multi-trade operation with sprinkler, alarm and suppression crews, a broader platform will fit you better today. We say so plainly on our comparison page.
Pricing
$49 /month, Solo
One technician, unlimited customers and extinguishers. Crew is $99 a month for up to five technicians. Free while we're in early access.
Questions
Frequently asked
Is PunchTag available now?
PunchTag is in early access. We're onboarding a small group of extinguisher companies first, and they help test each feature before general launch. Early access is free.
Will it work without cell signal?
Yes. Offline use is a launch requirement: inspections save on the phone or tablet and sync once the device is back online, so basements and mechanical rooms are fine.
Do the checklists follow NFPA 10?
The monthly and annual checklists follow the NFPA 10 (2022) inspection and maintenance items. You can add or remove items to match what your local fire marshal expects.
Does PunchTag replace paper tags?
Not completely. NFPA 10 requires a tag or label on each extinguisher showing the month and year of annual maintenance, who did it and which company. The PunchTag QR label sits with that tag and opens the unit's full history. NFPA 10 permits electronic records for monthly inspections; confirm your fire marshal accepts them.
Can I bring my existing customers and extinguishers over?
Yes. Send a spreadsheet or an export from your current software and we import your sites, units and due dates for you. Import is free on every plan.
Does it connect to QuickBooks?
At launch, yes: approved deficiency quotes export as invoices to QuickBooks Online.
How much will it cost?
Free during early access. After that, Solo is $49 a month for one technician and Crew is $99 a month for up to five, plus $15 per extra technician. No per-extinguisher fees.
Save your founding spot
We're onboarding a small group of extinguisher companies first. PunchTag is free while we're in early access. When billing starts, founding customers keep the Crew plan for $49 a month for as long as they stay subscribed.
